Metametrix: Allergix IgG “Delayed” Food Allergy Response

IgG4 antibodies are associated with non-atopic or "delayed" food reactions that can worsen or contribute to health challenges. These reactions are considered the most common form of immunologically mediated food intolerance. An IgG4 "delayed" response to food is actually more common than the IgE "immediate" response. IgG4 acts as a blocking antibody, protecting the individual from potentially fatal IgE reactions. These reactions are more difficult to notice since they can occur hours or even days after consumption of an offending food. In some cases, a person's reaction to a food may occur several hours to several days after eating the offending food and the link between the food and their symptoms may not be connected. These "hidden" food allergies are caused by increasing blood levels of IgG4 antibodies in reaction to specific foods.

Food sensitivities can occur at any age, triggering many different symptoms and contributing to a variety of disorders including:
Inflammatory bowel disease, Gas/bloating, Fatigue, Mood swings, ADD/ADHD, Headaches/Migraines, Skin Problems, Rheumatoid arthritis, Sinusitis, Recurrent ear infections.

Metametrix Innovation in IgG Antibody Testing

  • New patent-pending IgG4 assay allows our test to show less false positives leading to better patient compliance.
  • First test to quantitate IgG4
  • Eliminates non-specific binding, lowering false positives without rejecting true positives

Common offending frequently eaten foods typically hard to avoid:
milk, corn, wheat, egg, foods processed with mods such as black tea, breads and fruit juices.

Metametrix IgG4 Food Antibody Profile – measures serum levels of IgG4 antibodies specific to 90 food antigens. A four-day rotation diet is included.

Special Pricing is available for the following Allergix combination profiles:
 IgG4 and IgE Food Antibodies
IgG4 Food Antibodies and Celiac Profile

Special Note on Gluten:Gluten intolerances begin in the stool or in the saliva and shows up last in the blood. A gluten intolerance can exist when a Celiac blood test is negative. It is also possible to test negative for the gluten grains and test positive for a gluten intolerance. Our favorite test to identify gluten intolerance is our stool test.

1. Gluten Intolerance in Stool
2. Gluten Intolerance in Stool + transglutimase ab (auto immune caused by gluten)

Test results include a full color Food Reaction Patient Guide which will provide information on how to interpret your results, build your own customized, 4-day rotation diet, dietary recommendations, and alternative food options.
